Harmonizing Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations Hybrid Course

This course will describe the state of various mammographic screening guidelines for women of average risk, review the evidence in peer-reviewed literature, propose uniform metrics for screening mammography, and identify solutions such as risk stratification tools. This course combines the Screening Mammography Debate held in Washington D.C. with 7 AJR articles to provide a comprehensive overview of the arguments currently being debated in screening mammography. The AJR articles that are part of this course are not available for credit anywhere else.

Learning Outcomes and Lectures

After completing this course, the learner should be able to discuss the current breast cancer screening recommendations and guidelines; describe the medical evidence for breast cancer screening in the peer reviewed literature; describe state of the art risk stratification tools for breast cancer; and discuss harmonized recommendations and reimbursement for breast cancer screening.
